DEBORAH DAVIS - 21st ANNUAL JAZZ BENEFIT CONCERT FOR THE LEUKEMIA & LYMPHOMA SOCIETY

Jazz vocalist Deborah Davis returns to the Blue Note stage in her 19th annual benefit concert for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. The proceeds from this evening's performance will be donated to the Society for blood-related cancer research and patient services.

DEBORAH DAVIS is a gifted singer and consummate performer who has captivated audiences throughout the world. A jazz singer fused with gospel, Texas blues, a whole lot of soul, a natural flowing charm, and flawless stage presence, Deborah Davis draws you into her show the moment she hits the stage. A native of Dallas, Texas, Deborah began singing as soon as she could speak. Her first inspiration towards a jazz career was when her high school choir director, jazz pianist ROBERT SANDERS, added her to his weekend gigs. Deborah went on to earn a BACHELOR'S OF MUSIC EDUCATION/VOCAL STUDIES from NORTH TEXAS UNIVERSITY, and subsequently an ASSOCIATE ARTS DEGREE in RECORDING ENGINEERING at CEDAR VALLEY COLLEGE. Her musical development brought her to NEW YORK CITY in 1986, where she has carved out a niche for herself on the U.S. East Coast and international jazz scenes. ...
