About
The New York Jazz Workshop is proud to announce the formation of the NYJW Woodwind Ensemble taught by John Sergenian, Bart Platteau, and Marc Mommaas. The core of the Woodwind Ensemble will be a saxophone quartet but we do except as alternatives trumpet, flute, bassoon, clarinet, french horn, baritone horn and trombone.
The Woodwind Ensemble is a great avenue to build technique, develop a full sound, improve reading skills, develop improvisation skills, and above all to have fun playing some amazing arrangements. You can expect arrangements from Charles Mingus, Yusef Lateef, Lennie Niehaus, Hubert Blake, Dave Bramely, Nick Ayoub, Ralph Martino and many more. The faculty is specialized in woodwinds and you will get the additional advantage of having three teachers sharing their knowledge in one workshop which is very special. Get ready for a fantastic experience. Like the other ensembles this group will be performing at jazz venues in NYC!...
