Join us at this performance which celebrates the release of Bennett Paster's new CD Relentless Pursuit of the Beautiful. The disc is a broad-based modern jazz recording showcasing Paster's latest compositions and arrangements for jazz quintet and sextet. Joined by six of NYC's most illustrious instrumentalists, he effortlessly integrates swing with Latin and Brazilian rhythms to forge a contemporary, accessible style. Recorded one sweltering July day in Brooklyn after a series of monthly performances at Greenwich Village music club The 55 Bar, the album vividly captures snapshots in the band's development. Their fearless group interplay and unwavering melodicism render a rich, eminently listenable music that will draw you in and carry you on a musical journey.
