On October 20, gallery/performance space 17 Frost Theatre of the Arts in Williamsburg Brooklyn will play host to the first annual October Jazz Revolution. The event, organized by percussionist John Pietaro and presented by the Dissident Arts Front, will celebrate the radical sounds of improvisational music as a statement of wider liberation. Emboldened progressive statements of social justice will be present through much of the music heard, ranging from original works to reconstructions of older protest music to thematic free jazz.
