Bamboo, in association with Revive Music, presents world-renowned keyboardist, producer, songwriter, and musical director Ray Angry for a new, very special weekly residency Ray Angry Is Mister Goldfinger in New York.
The weekly residency brings Ray's beat laboratory and studio experience to an intimate, live setting, giving fans the chance to watch and learn as Ray uses his keyboard, computer, and drum programmers to make live beats. Ray draws inspiration from studying classical composers such as Chopin and Rachmaninoff as well as jazz masters like Herbie Hancock and hip-hop producer J Dilla. The mélange of musical inspiration illuminates the root of Angry’s talent and style, and makes his live show a truly enchanting experience.
Ray's incredible career has seen him work with the best in jazz, classical, gospel/R&B, and hip-hop. He was the musical director for Lauryn Hill, Joss Stone, and Kelis, has played with Whitney Houston, Prince, Talib Kweli, Roy Hargrove, Esperanza Spalding, written songs for Melanie Fiona and Christina Aguilera, and regularly plays on Jimmy Fallon with The Roots. Ray most recently produced for The Roots Undun album and played with D'Angelo for his recent dates in Europe.
The night will be hosted by Malik Work of The Real Live Show. Malik is a an MC, actor, and writer.
