This forward looking trio plays music composed by Marko Djordjevic, a drummer whose Serbian roots are subtly woven into the tapestry of his contemporary jazz compositions, making for a unique and memorable listening experience. “A true innovator” as noted by Modern drummer magazine, and called “one of the greatest drummers today” by Lionel Loueke, Marko Djordjevic assembled a trio of equally noteworthy musicians in pianist Bobby Avey (winner of last year’s Thelonious Monk piano comosition competition), and Australian upright bassist extraordinaire Desmond White. The group’s interplay seems telepathic and their creative energy is boundless. Marko Djordjevic and Sveti will be performing music from their upcoming album to be released later this year.
